FAQ
How does vibration training work in the VIMODROM?
“The vibration generates multidimensional oscillations. When performing various strengthening exercises, the vibrations trigger tendon and muscle stretch reflexes. The muscles contract at lightning speed and relax up to 3000 times within a minute. The muscles are strengthened by absorbing and equalising the vibrations.”

What does sports science have to say about vibration training?
“Vibration training has become increasingly popular in recent years, particularly in the context of performance enhancement. The new form of training is being used in leisure, competitive and health sports as well as in therapy. Vibration training is far more than just a trend. It is a recognised and scientifically proven technology that enables highly efficient training for untrained, overweight people through to competitive athletes.”
Prof Dr Froböse, German Sport University Cologne
Where do you already work intensively with vibration?
“Vibration training has proven itself over several decades in physiotherapy, medicine and competitive sports. This form of training is primarily used to compensate for muscular imbalances, alleviate back pain, strengthen the pelvic floor muscles, tighten tissue and promote blood circulation. In high-performance sport, vibration training is used for optimum training stimulation of the muscles involved in movement and for stabilisation training.”
Dr Kleinöder, German Sport University Cologne
Is there a minimum age for vibration training?
“In principle, children and adolescents should not do any strength training, but there is nothing to stop them from training with a therapeutic approach. Vibration training can be started from the age of 12. However, this should be done under supervision, as the frequency and duration of the exercises and the posture must be adapted to the individual’s physical capacity.”

Is there a maximum age for vibration training?
“No, in principle anyone can start vibration training, even or especially at an older age, as the device can be adjusted to your personal needs and capabilities. Vibration training offers great advantages, especially for senior citizens. Vibration technology combats osteoporosis, which is widespread among older people. Vibration training activates the muscles without the need for additional weights or fitness equipment. Joints, ligaments and tendons are subjected to much less strain than with conventional training, while at the same time a greater effect is achieved. “

Does long-term vibration training in the gym make sense?
“Training should be just as long-term and regular as conventional training. Maintaining muscle performance is only possible with regular training. If you stop training for a longer period of time, the muscles will return to their original state. Just like with conventional strength training.”
Ben Gordner, qualified sports scientist
Is the vibration harmful to health?
“This question is the subject of many international studies and research projects. Our bodies were made for movement and mobility. We are perfectly equipped to absorb all the vibrations we are confronted with in our daily lives. The vibrations of the vibration plate are absorbed by the muscles and not by the joints, unlike the vibrations in the working environment. In addition, the duration of exposure to the vibration is crucial. The duration of a training session of 10 minutes bears no relation to the duration of the vibration in the working environment. As long as you use vibration training in the recommended manner, it is one of the safest sports.”

Why is vibration training so particularly efficient?
“During vibration training in the VIMODROM, up to 97 % of the muscle fibres are trained simultaneously. In total, the muscles used contract up to 3000 times per minute. In contrast to conventional strength training in the gym, the deep muscles are also addressed. This improves intra- and inter-muscular coordination and the training is particularly intense and fast.”

How many training sessions on the vibration plate per week are recommended?
“The general recommendation is 2 training sessions per week so that there is enough time in between for recovery and regeneration of the muscles. Massage sessions can be carried out daily.”

Does vibration training also burn fat?
“All the strength exercises in vibration training build muscle, which significantly increases the basal metabolic rate. It also has a positive effect on the metabolism and strengthens the tissue.”

Are there any prerequisites that I need to fulfil to be able to use vibration training?
“No. Anyone can use vibration training to improve their health. Contraindications should be ruled out in a personal consultation before training. The training concept is individually tailored to you, whether you are a beginner or an experienced athlete, your goals and needs and accompanied by a personal trainer.”

How much time can I save on training with VIMODROM?
“With normal studio training, you need about 60 to 90 minutes per training session. And that’s at least 2 – 3 times a week. This easily adds up to up to six hours of training time per week that you spend in the gym. For most people, this is not possible in the long term. Time is a valuable commodity that is becoming less and less. However: 2 x 10 minutes per week of vibration training produces the same effect. VIMODROM training therefore saves many hours compared to conventional training.”

What distinguishes VIMODROM from other vibration providers?
“VIMODROM has specialised exclusively in vibration training in its micro studios. We only use one machine and do nothing else. That’s why we don’t have an elaborate pricing system where vibration training is added to the basic membership fee as an overpriced additional service, but instead have our customers pay exclusively for this service. In addition, our specialisation allows us to give each customer their own personal trainer – a very important factor in achieving training goals. You don’t spend a minute training alone with us – you won’t find that anywhere else. We plan your training session, carry it out together with you and pay attention to correct posture and exercise execution.”
